News highlights from the frostbite racing season.

The Frozen Racing starts again at Edgewood

Sunfish - buff up to start racing

RACING

November starts this week.
Edgewood is ready begin Frozen racing.
Sundays now through February.

Up from a nearly devestating fire in January, the Edgewood Yacht Club has done an amazing re-build at the basic level.

And in the spirit, the Club and the Sailing School have just announced they are enthusiastically endorsing our sport by hosting another winter frostbite season: the Club and the School extend a welcome-back invitation to all the sailors who want to be part of the Edgewood Frozen Few.

With that, Sunfish and FrozenFew have begun to appear on FaceBook, and at the Club and the Sailing School websites -- bringing the weekly racing scores, weather, and all the Frozen News and photos. Plus, the search is on for skippers.

To get yourself on the water and join the action, please check out "How to get on the water for Frozen Racing."

The Race Committee will lead the action from the dock and from the safety-boat, according to these linked NOR and the SI.

RED - frostbite racing canceled for 12/26

Frostbite racing has been cancelled for December 26 due to strong, increasing winds.

The next regatta will be the special New Year's Day race. There is no racing scheduled for January 2.

Starting Whistle for The Frozen Few, 2010

Autumn sailing

The last of the cruising boats gently landed on poppets in the North parking lot of the Edgewood Yacht Club over the weekend. This week there was a freeze warning issued for Rhode Island. We've also noticed that the flock of black ducks has arrived. The signs are clear. It is time to mobilize The Frozen Few winter Sunfish racing fleet!

We had 11 skippers participate last season, and so far, it looks like there will be plenty of competitors again turning out to take on the elements and the challenging task of sailing fast round the marks in twitchy little boats.

You can use the "Contact Us" link to get in touch for additional details.

Thanks!
