Good starts and warm sunshine!

Conditions last week prevented the Frozen Few from leaving shore due to low wind chills and forecast for wind speeds to increase during the day. However, this Sunday conditions made for very pleasant sailing. North wind 6–8 knots, dropping to 2–3 knots in races 5 and 6. Temperature for this week was 42° F and the wind chill was a comparatively balmy 35°.

One rule situation was observed when one sailboat on port tack jostled another sailboat on starboard tack right at the finish line after the whistle blew for the first sailboat, but before the whole boat had crossed the line and before the whistle blew for the second boat. One skipper passing by advised that it would have been advantageous for the first sailboat to tack over the line to be on starboard tack and to avoid the minor scuffle. The outcome of the race was not affected.

Race Committee offered a tennis ball race in the sixth race, but no tennis balls were hurled at other racers. Tennis balls were instead captured in a defensive strategy.

Eight skippers were at the start line. The warm weather brought out half a dozen spectators to watch from the docks, including yacht club members, skipper's families and visiting dogs.

Race committee completed six races. (T, G, W2, T, O, W* Tennis Ball race).
