The Frozen Few

Winter "Frostbite" Racing

Edgewood Sailing School and Edgewood Yacht Club support a vibrant fleet of over a dozen frostbite sailors who sail Sunfish on Sundays from November through March, including a New Year's Day regatta. Edgewood Sailing School can help you get safely started with this challenging and rewarding winter sport. The Frozen Few also welcome spectators to cheer on racers.

Fading winds on 2/10

The last race became an exercise in patience

Sundays in 2013 seem to be feast or famine: either we get too much wind to stay upright, or too little to move. Today was closer to the latter, but 4 skippers managed to make their way around the course in dying winds for 4 races. Catherine came away with the day's honors for the second time this season.

Wind: NNE 2-7 knots
Air temp: 37°F
Wind chill: 33°F
